Making homemade toys for baby is fun. You can sew some cute soft fleece or soft blocks. They are safe for baby because they are easy to clutch, and there are no sharp corners. A soft block is an easy handmade toy project for beginning sewers.

Cut six squares in fleece. You can choose to make it smaller or larger. Add cut felt shapes to all your square pieces: letters or simple shapes. Hand stitch on with machine stitch on. Lay out your six squares in a cross pattern to plan out where each one will go. Machine stitch all the edges together except for one side, leave an opening to put your stuffing (wool, fiberfill, etc). Sew the last seam while it is stuffed full.
